Born and raised on a dairy farm in Kansas, Beth began violin lessons at the age of 4 and piano at 5. She continued taking lessons through high school and into college.

Beth received her BA in Elementary Education from Hobe Sound Bible College in south Florida. After completing her student-teaching she moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where a job was waiting for her at Far North Christian School. She taught First Grade there for 4 ½ years. During this time, she met and married her husband and began a family.

After the birth of her first daughter, Beth chose to stay home. She did part-time daycare as well being a full-time wife and mother. Two more children joined their family within the next five years.

When her daughter’s piano teacher moved out of the area, she convinced Beth to open her own studio and take many of her students. Beth has now been teaching piano for the past 15 years. She also began taking violin students 6 years ago. Her goal is to help her students to develop consistent practice habits and learn the necessary theory and interpretive skills so they can enjoy making and sharing music.

Beth offers year-round lessons. She has two studio recitals each year as well participating in IAKT sponsored events. She encourages collaborative playing and sharing of music in a variety of venues.

When she is not teaching music, Beth enjoys sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, baking, reading, and scrapbooking.
