My passion for piano began at a young age, and has brought me countless rewards. While in high school I won the highest honor in Alaska in the ASAA competition for solo piano, and later won the concerto contest at Pensacola Christian College where I graduated with honors with a B.A. in Piano Performance. I have since acquired certification through the Music Teachers National Association, and I continue to be involved with its local organization, the IAKT. My other musical involvement includes performing at my church and accompanying my sister, a violinist.

In my teaching, I mainly use the Piano Adventures and Royal Conservatory series, and I provide two recitals a year, as well as opportunities to be adjudicated and compete annually. I also teach church music improvisation in the traditional and contemporary styles. Some students choose to learn Classical music during the school year and improvisation during the summer for a balanced study approach.

I accept twenty students a year, and prefer students ages 7-adult. I teach mainly home educated families, since I too was home educated all twelve grades, and am approved by IDEA, Raven, and Cyberlynx. My two children, ages 1 and 3, get a lot of playtime with my students' siblings in a very kid-friendly atmosphere adjacent to my studio.
